JustZines - proof of concept
So I got that little zine marketplace site to work locally on my machine. Got it hooked up to the stripe sandbox stuff to test payments and it all worked just fine. I added a bunch of dummy zines to test the checkout and user reading section.

I have the domain ready, I'm just contemplating wether or not to make it live. Would people actually use it? Would someone hack the whole thing and ruin it? If it does take off and I can't afford to keep it going how many people would sue me? I haven't set up the TOS or privacy policy just yet but it would have the usual "use at your own risk, we can remove content/accounts we deem inappropriate/illegal, etc."
The likely outcome is that this goes nowhere and just becomes another monthly hosted site I have with no users. Most of the reviews on Noodlist are just me and friends or family members. Real people never bother to sign up. I tried running ads on fb/reddit/google etc and got clicks but no new users. Nobody cares about it. Why would they care about this?
Odds are great that this would end up the same way. I've already been told that zines are something that are supposed to only ever be given away for free. People don't have extra money these days for stuff like this. I only spent a month on it for fun. Maybe it should just be a thing were I go "I made this to prove that I could still do things."
Anyway. Maybe it goes live. Maybe it doesn't.
