Final the Magic Fantasy Part 2

Yall.

My inventory of over 5k Final Fantasy Magic cards went live at midnight on Thursday. By Saturday morning I was well over 100 orders and not a single one was under $5. I pulled, packed, and stamped what I could to get things under control. It takes a bit of time to find each card and when 1 order has 20 cards that can take even longer. I spent most of Saturday pulling orders. Those that were over $20 get packed in a bubble mailer or small box and I can print the labels here so those went out to the post office later that day. But here at the house I was sitting on 200 white envelopes.

Why? Why not ship all those letters with the packages?

Because SOMEBODY made sure to have team bags, penny sleeves, top loaders, bubble mailers, the works, ready to go and ship all these Magic cards and FORGOT TO BUY MORE STAMPS. I buy them in rolls of 100 almost every week. Stamps are nearly 75 cents each. The post office thinks I'm insane.

Anyway.

Today I got to the post office when they opened to buy my rolls of stamps and drop off the eBay orders. I put the big hits on eBay for protection. Cards over $250 get sent to PSA to make sure they are real and then they ship the card to the buyer to ensure I don't get scammed. Both my surge foil Cloud and surge foil Sephiroth sold after 2 days. I am not upset at either of those sales, they paid off one of the collector boxes.

The blue ink chocobo will take a while to sell and I'm not worried about it sitting here on my display stand until it does. As of right now I'm nearly break even on the cost of the FF cards and its been one weekend. I still have a second case of play boosters on the way and a set of commander decks coming today to add to the store.

But as of right now the store is turned off. Why? Last night I was pulling the last few orders when I realized people were ordering several copies of stuff I didn't have. Things I couldn't have. Like, 9 copies of a foil land. I never had 9 copies of foil lands. Why was my inventory showing this? I figured it was a glitch or I typed in 12 instead of changing a 1 to a 2 in the pricing. But it wasn't the only one, about 4 orders later another impossible card order appeared. Then a 3rd and 4th. Now, these were only 20-30 cent cards, nothing huge but still having to do those refunds hurts my shop. So after pulling the orders and refunding the dollar I lost I paused the TCGP shop so I can repair my inventory.

I started with an entire Monster Box filled 100% with cards. (This is just the Final Fantasy set) Each row has a 4+ inch empty gap in it now. After two days. Now, that won't last long because I can't replace anything being sold but in 2 months we get EoE and then Avatar. There is always another set to replace the current one.

But have I played with these cards? I haven't had much of a chance. I did play around earlier in the week on Arena with the digital cards to see how things worked. I saw instantly that the chocobo/bird/landfall cards were going to be a hit so I priced those up in advance. They are all gone now. We did buy a set of commander decks for our personal use since that's all anyone plays now and we didn't really have any decent ones. We've played with 4 people for the first time yesterday and the game works much better that way. We initially were doing 2 or 3 players and the decks are just too strong for that.

Today is the first day I've had a break to sit at my computer and not pull an order. 200 happy customers are going to get to put these cards in their decks and play with their buddies. I hope they all win.
