Final Magic the Fantasy Part 1
The latest Magic the Gathering set came out this past Friday. I had managed to pre-order a collector box from a shop in Dallas for MSRP. Total Insanity. I also ordered two commander decks (for ourselves) and the little Cloud/Sephiroth starter kit.
We drove all the way to Dallas Friday (It's a little over an hour and some change.) and grabbed lunch before picking up the cards. The shop warned us that there would be a line to get in when they opened so we stopped for lunch first.
We got some really good sushi at an Asian fusion place just down the road from the shop. There is no sushi here, you have to travel at least 45 minutes in any direction for any Asian food at all.
Anyway, after some fish we went into the shop and picked up my order. We also grabbed some sleeves and a couple of deck boxes. They had those new game castles that hold your commander cards so I got one of those too. (The place sold me a $700 cbb for $459, I'm gonna spend a lil extra in their store.)
Drove home and opened the box on video just in case. You should always open a high dollar box on video to prove any hits are real. And it was a good thing I did because I pulled a surge foil Cloud, Cecil, and a neon blue ink Chocobo. I managed to get a clip uploaded of the bird but haven't uploaded the whole box opening yet. I'll throw that on the Hardcopy site later.
I've got the Chocobo on eBay already with some other Japanese language hits. My husband ordered a Japanese collector box just to get some more authentic flavored cards. This is the most expensive card I've pulled from any game so it was crazy to actually get something nice.
My case of play boosters came in the mail today. It took us maybe half an hour to open them all. We got quite a few good mythics and enough rares to pay for the case.
I have another case coming in later this week along with a set of the Final Fantasy commander decks to break down. The two decks we preordered are for our own personal use, not to go in the store so we can actually play with some of the cards for once.
I got the Titus deck because ten is the FF I played in high school. Every card in the commander deck is themed to FFX. The Cloud deck is all FF7 themed. Every card. It's crazy.
